Great Place to Work® is a global research company that enables businesses in over 45 countries worldwide to survey their employees (through anonymous responses), and receive validation and recognition for their company and workplace culture.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing clients, the wider BlueRock community and, as importantly, the dedicated work of our fantastic BlueRockers. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look into why our employees think we’re a great place to work!
What Makes BlueRock a Great Place to Work®?
Anyone who’s had the chance to step into our La Trobe Street office can tell you that we aren’t your average professional services firm. And no, it isn’t because of the Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson mural in our level 17 cafe, the sombrero-wearing unicorn by the reception desk, or our beloved wall of inspirational female entrepreneurs in our collaboration space. The things that set us apart from other firms runs deeper than our eccentric office aesthetic; it’s our community culture and entrepreneurial spirit.
Yes, we work with business owners to help them run better businesses and have better lives, but we also run businesses ourselves. To start with, our unique multidisciplinary model enables our 15 service divisions to operate as successful businesses in their own rights while working collaboratively with one another to best service our clients and members of the community. As well as that, our BlueRockers get the opportunity to invest in BlueRock, so we can all work towards a shared vision.
Together, we offer support and end-to-end solutions to entrepreneurs, business owners and families in all aspects of their lives and businesses, from buying a business or purchasing new manufacturing equipment, to SMSF strategies and estate planning. This one-stop-shop model allows our teams to create amazing efficiencies and act in an agile way to supercharge growth for businesses and help individuals effectively reach their personal goals.
We create further efficiencies by leveraging impressive technology and automation, optimising the everyday work and allowing more time for our people to proactively advise our clients and develop long-lasting relationships with clients and each other.
Our community is very important to us on many levels. In 2020 we launched the Be BlueRock Foundation, a public ancillary fund designed to give individuals and organisations a simple, cost-effective and tax-effective way to establish their own sub-fund and distribute money to charities of their choice over time. It allows people to enjoy the benefits of a public charitable foundation without the responsibilities of being a trustee and managing compliance.
It’s very exciting for our people who have the opportunity to get involved in events, fundraising, volunteering, pro bono work and salary sacrifice initiatives, while clients can take advantage of our philanthropy consultants to design their very own giving platform. As a unique aspect to life at BlueRock, our Be BlueRock Foundation really adds to BlueRock being a Great Place to Work!
